PUBLIC ACCESS

In this age of the internet, e-mail, cellular phones and cable TV, living life in the fast lane becomes the rule not the exception. Indeed, the world has, in the words of Marshall McLuhan, become a global village where anyone knows what everyone else is doing – in the blink of an eye. Our life has become so fast-paced that we neglect to smell the roses and take note of the little details that make up the whole. This is what our new telemagazine "Public Access" offers – a thoughtful peek at people, places and events that pass by in a blue as we race through life.

"Public Access" is unlike other telemagazines offered on TV nowadays. We will do not only go for the sensational issues of the day, we also try to unravel the story behind the stories, the real people behind the public images. We separate the real issues from the imaginary ones.

This new telemagazine with a semi-documentary slant features totally new perspectives on topics that viewers would surely find both entertaining as well as informative. Joining veteran broadcast journalist Ms. Cristina Peczon as main host are a pair of energetic newcomers, music prodigy Nikki Junia and upcoming broadcast host Carlo Lorenzo. Ms. Junia, a cum laude graduate of the UST Conservatory, was among the young music performers personally trained by Ryan Cayabyab. Mr. Lorenzo, meanwhile, earned his spurs by field reporting and hosting for mornings@gma.

Directed and written by the dynamic Ian Reyno, Public Access will be aired initially once a month, with our pilot telecast on December 18,1999. Co-produced by Mr. Perry Pimentel of SFX Productions, "Public Access" has spared nothing in using the latest in television technology for this exciting new show.
