American Chambers of Commerce Around the World
American Chambers of Commerce (AmChams) in 74 countries around the world are voluntary associations of business executives concerned with U.S. foreign trade and investment. The AmChams, which are affiliates of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, assert the U.S. business point of view in host countries by representing their members before the governments, business communities, and general public of their respective countries. Through a wide variety of activities, AmChams work to:
- Develop mutually prosperous and amicable economic, social and commercial relations between U.S. businesses and industrial interests and those of the host country.
- Represent members' views on policy and regulatory matters to both U.S. and host country governments and interpret the point of view of other countries to the American business public.
- Promote local economic and social contributions for the benefit of host countries.
